CH Xanadu Donovan’s Reef

“Duke” is one of our newest champions. He is the son Of Houston and Ramona, born 3/1/06. He is the largest of our males, standing about 28″ at the withers. Duke lived with a family for about 2 years, had hunt training, but the original owners just didn’t have time for him. So we gladly took him back. What an utter delight. Duke is a sweet, loving dog with a ton of drive. We look forward to see what he produces as a stud.

We have specialed him a little bit, but will probably do more showing in 2010. We’d like to see him get his JH along the line and possibly take him to Westminster.

Duke’s CERF is normal and he is OFA excellent. What a gem! Duke is now living with his new family in Houston. SOLD

CH Xanadu Wing-Ding Ramona

Ramona is a fourth generation bitch out of CH Xanadu Beryl Ivy and CH Dunnells Tarquin. She is the largest of Ivy’s daughters with bone, head, angles and height. She is marbled sedge with an excellent tight coat.

Ramona is a bit mouthy, very sweet and loves everyone. She is good with other dogs and will be one of the best additions to our breeding program.

Ramona finished her championship July, 2006. In March, 2006, she produced our first all Xanadu litter with Houston. She made a great mom. Deceased

CH Xanadu Ravin’ Houston

One of our newest boys, Houston is a young male, born August, 2004; He is a beautiful deep brown in color and weighs about 80 pounds. He should top out at 85 pounds after maturity.

Houston is the son of CH Xanadu Ruby’s Ripley Believe It and CH Bowies Flying “B” Jumping Jack JH, with a great disposition, wonderful angles and a tight coat. Houston is definitely a contender.

Houston finished his championship at 18 months, March, 2006. He, with Ramona, produced our first all Xanadu litter, March 1, 2006. The puppies were beautiful. We look forward to adding Houston to our stud list.

Houston is OFA Excellent and has all his clearances.

Current titles: Costa Rican Grand Champion, Grand Champion of Mexico, Pan American Champion, American Champion. He also has 2 legs of his International championship. (Possible co-ownership)

CH Xanadu Ozymandias Reigns

“Oz”, born September, 2004 out of CH Xanadu Beryl Ivy and CH Chesabar’s My Buoy, is a large male, dark brown in color with very substantial bone, beautiful head, balanced body and a great attitude.

Oz started showing in June, 2005 and has points. Oz will be used in our stud program and is a dog that should be watched as an up and comer.

Oz received his championship in September, 2006. He is the son of Ivy and Chesabars My Buoy. He’s a big boy with a beautiful head and lots of bone. We plan on showing him as a special in 2007. This guy is a real snake charmer and really loves the girls.

Xanadu D. D. Dallas

Dallas, born August 2004, out of CH Xanadu Ruby’s Ripley Believe It and CH Bowies Flying “B” Jumping Jack JH, is light brown, has a nice head, good composition and tight coat. Dallas is nicely balanced, has good bone, great angles and sweet disposition.

Dallas is pointed out and needs any 2 majors to receive her title.. She a great asset to our breeding program. We have kept 4 of her daughters, all from different litters. All are beautiful. All will produce 6th generation pups.l.

At 7 years of age, Dallas has become a real beauty. Reminiscent of bitches 40 or 50 years ago, she’s built like a line backer. While she does not look like any of of other girls, we feel she’ll make a great brood bitch with her gentle personality. Dallas may finish her championship sometime in 2011 or 2012. Better late than never!.

CH Xanadu Daphne Forest Nymph

Daphne, born September, 2004, out of CH Xanadu Beryl Ivy and CH Chesabar’s My Buoy, is a brown substantial bitch with great bone, lovely coat, beautiful head and very sweet disposition.

Daphne received her championship in July, 2006. and has gone Best of Breed numerous times. Daphne will be sold as a pet/companion dog. (For placement or sale)

CH Ruby Begonia the Petite (1994-2008)

Ruby is our second Chessie. Born October, 1995, bred from our foundation bitch Chocolate Moose Shelby and Roshwood’s Aqua Zute.

Ruby is a large bitch with a magnificent rich brown huge coat. She has had 5 litters and many of them are CH, JH, and MH.

At 13 years of age she still swims and retrieves. She was a wonderful mother, has a very sweet disposition and is responsible for most if our breeding stock.

Ruby received her CH at 6 ½ years of age.

 

We lost Ruby at the end of November, 2008. She will be missed; she was indeed a gem. Deceased

Ch Xanadu Wind’neather Wings Rachel

Rachel, born fall, 2002, is our first 4th generation Champion. Bred from Ch Xanadu Beryl Ivy and CH Dunnells Tarquin, she is a compact bitch with a fine head piece and warm brown in color.

Rachel is a good natured, quiet bitch, but very protective if her home and family.

Rachel is now a ‘California ” girl, living with her new family, being a beach girl and shopping Rodeo Drive.

CH Xanadu’s Topaz Jumpin’ Jack Flash

“Mic” is our first male champion. Born October, 2001, out of CH Ruby Begonia the Petite and CH Sandy oak Ozark Lincoln, he is a dark reddish brown, compact, weighing 80 lbs.

Mic has a wonderful disposition, has been hunt trained and loves the water and retrieving.

He is a well balanced dog and a real joy. Mic has good angulations, is  strong on his feet, and is available for stud.

Mic is now with his new family and his niece, Ariel, having a wonderful life.

CH Xanadu Solid Gold Wing Ariel

Ariel, born fall, 2002, is the 2nd fourth generation champion out of CH Xanadu Beryl Ivy and CH Dunnells Tarquin. She is a substantial bitch, light sedge in color and weighs 70 pounds. Ariel has a lovely coat, short and tight, and a great head.

As A special, she has won various Best of Breed and will be a great addition to our breeding program.

Ariel is now living with her new family and enjoys sleeping in bed and playing fetch.

CH Xanadu Ruby’s Ripley Believe It

Ripley is a sedge/brown bitch, born in October, 2000, out of CH Ruby Begonia the Petite and Castlepeake’s Reo Speedwagon. She is a compact bitch with great angles and a tight short coat.

Ripley is an excellent water dog and retriever. She started showing at 6 months and received her championship in a few months.

Ripley has produced 3 litters. Her son “Shadow” is a champion, as is Houston and Bogey;  her newest daughter, Lauren, is on her way to her championship.

Ripley has won multiple Best of Breed competitions. She is exceeding happy, is quick on her feet and loves everyone.

Ripley had her 5th litter, 3 males, 4 females, 6/7/08. Pups look great and are vigorous. As usual, Ripley gave us a rainbow of colors. This is Ripley’s last litter. Ripley has produced an array of champions and titled dogs.

Ripley is OFA good/excellent and produces pups with OFA excellent. We have decided to retire Ripley since we have 2 of her daughters to carry on the line. She does enjoy showing here and there in the veteran’s class.

We lost Ripley to bloat late in 2009; we really miss her. (deceased)

CH Xanadu Lemont Cranston

“Shadow” is our second male champion. Born 1/1/04, he is a very dark brown Chessie with a great coat. At 19 months, he weighs 75 pounds and will probably top out at 85 pounds when he’s done growing. Shadow is out of CH Xanadu Ruby’s Ripley Believe It and CH Pond Hollow Bering Sea, (the top stud in 2004).

Shadow has great angles, a beautiful head and tremendous hind quarters. He actually out runs our Irish wolfhound, Willow.

As a special, he has already won Best of Breed and is on his way to make a name for himself.

Shadow has started hunt training and does well in the water and retrieving. We hope to have his JH soon.

At 18 months, we had a preliminary OFA on his hips, and was determined excellent.

Shadow is with his new family in Chapel Hill, TX, and is still available for stud.

CH Xanadu Just Wingin’it Dina

Dina, born fall, 2002, is the third 4th generation champion out of CH Xanadu Beryl Ivy and CH Dunnells Tarquin. She is dark brown with tan points: a very rare coloration that occurs 1 in 50,000 dogs. Dina weighs about 70 pounds, has a short, dark coat, is well balanced and has a nice disposition.

Because of her unusual coloration, she is very desirable as a hunter. Dina will make a great contribution to our breeding program. Dina finished her championship in 2005. Dina produce her 1st litter 4/07, another rainbow litter. We expect to breed Dina  again in 2008.

 

We have decided to retire Dina as a breeder. She is a good producer, but a very nervous mother. SOLD

CH Xanadu Beryl Ivy

“Ivy” is our first Chesapeake Bay Retriever champion. She was bred from our brood bitch CH Ruby Begonia the Petite and CH Sandy Oak Ozark Lincoln.

Born in September, 1999, Ivy was the pick of the litter. She started showing the following July and won a 4 point major on her first outing. She is dark mahogany brown and weighs about 72 lbs..

Ivy is an excellent water dog and retriever. She loves people and children, is not dog aggressive, but protective of her home.

She has won many Best of Breed and group competitions. In 2004, She won an award of merit at Westminster from a field of 32 champions. She also has awards from various specialty shows.

Ivy has had 3 litters (30 puppies), and those progenies have achieved CH, JH and MH. Her kids are Dina, Rachel, Ariel, Ramona, Oz, Daphne and Willy.

Ivy produces well balanced dogs with great hunting instincts.

After 4 beautiful litters, Ivy is retired and spends most of her time swimming and laying on the bed.

Shelby Chocolate Moose (1992-2009)

Shelby, our first Chessie and foundation bitch, born spring, 1993, is still active and swims every day.

Shelby has that special Chessie smile and gets along with all animals and people.

Shelby had only 1 litter; we kept “Ruby” from that litter.

Shelby joined her daughter April, 2009. She was almost 17 and loved the water till the end. We will miss her, but she had a great life. Deceased

CH Xanadu Steamboat Willy by Chesabar

Willy is the son of Chesabars Copper Mine, Tonka, and Ivy. Born November, 2005, he a big boy, who, at a year looks like his mom. Willy has been showing since the summer, 2006, has points, and finished in San Antonio, 2008.

Willy, by means of preliminary x-ray, is determined to be OFA good at 14 months.

Willy is with his new owner and lives in Mississippi and is a real hunter.  Sold

CH Xanadu Maltese Falcon Decoy

“Bogie” is the son of Ripley and Chesabars Ashby Calico Decoy. Born November, 2005, he promises to be a fine specimen. Boggy has points and stated showing the summer, 2006. He received his championship in San Antonio,in 2007.

Bogie, by means of a preliminary x-ray, is determined to be OFA excellent at 14 months. Co-owned; living in Denton. All breeding rights are in effect.

GCH Xanadu Bacall’s Just Whistle

Lauren is the daughter of Ripley and Chesabar’s Ashby Calico Decoy. Born November, 2005, Lauren is a beautiful deep chocolate brown with a tight coat and beautiful side gait. Lauren started showing the summer, 2006, and finished  early 2009. She got her Grand Championship in July, 2011.

As a daughter of Ripley, she is OFA good.

Lauren had her first litter on 9/26/08. She was bred to OZ.Lauren was a bit shy as a young bitch so we decided to make her a house dog. She had 11 beautiful pups and went back into the ring 12 weeks after the pups were born and never lost. She is now the Diva of the ring. We plan on showing her for the next year or so before we breed her again.

Lauren received her champion title in March, 2009; she even got a BOB the day before beating the top dog in the country!

CH Xanadu Good-bye Heart

Marylu is our is our newest champion. She looks a lot like Lauren, even though faintly related. She is dark brown, but not as dark as Lauren. She is obedient and has a gentle nature until a squirrel or rabbit appears. She is pregnant with one of our 6th generation litters and will continue showing as a special in spring, 2012.

We expect big things out of Marylu, she is a beauty with tons of personality, drive and great temperament.

Xanadu Afternoon Delight

“Coco” is one of our new little ladies out of Ramona and Houston, born 6/14/07. Coco is a very substantial girl with a beautiful coat and lots of bone. We have high hopes for her in the show ring and future breeder.

Coco had her preliminary x-rays and should be OFA good or excellent. She will continue showing fall, 2011.

Coco has 1 major and hopefully will have her title before summer, 2012.

Xanadu Mercedes Benz It Like Beckham

Sadie is a lovely warm brown girl out of Ivy and Bogie, born 8/21/07.She looks a lot like Ivy, but built a little differently. I feel she is shorter backed and has a bit more bone and great angles. With all the dogs, we hope to start showing Sadie in 2011.

Sadie is exceptionally smart and a natural hunter. She carries a lovely coat and is blessed with a lot of sweet spirit; a lot like her mom.

Xanadu Star of India

Indy is a nicely proportioned female out of Dallas and Willy, born 3/27/07, she has a great coat and disposition. We see her in the show ring in 2009 and will make a fine breeder in the future.

Indy has had her preliminary x-rays and should be OFA good to excellent. OFA should be in shortly.

Indy has started showing and has received points. We look for great things from her. Indy only needs 2 majors to receive her title.

Xanadu Some Like It Hot “Java”

Xanadu Some Like It Hot “Java” is a big boy, a warm brown, male, out of Ripley and Oz. We see him as a special and stud in the future, born 6/3/07.

Java will be shipped to NC 5/28/10, and will be living with his new family including a new chessie

CH Xanadu Hot Shot “Zambia”

Zambia is one of 3 brothers from the Ripley/Oz litter, 2007. He has turned into a beautiful dog with a great personality and is being shown. “Z” lives with his co-owner, Kelli, close by so I can see his progress. He has been bred recently to another Xanadu pup and we look forward to see what they produce.

Zambia is OFA good and has his other clearances. He is available for stud. Zambia is co-owned by Kelly Corcoran. “Z” got his championship in July, 2011.

Xanadu Tears of Gold “Freya”

Born August of 2008, Freya is a real beauty. Her father, Barnes, is a fantastic hunter. Freya is a light copper gold with no mask. She’s got long legs and can run like the wind. Freya is a bit “mouthy” but a real lover. When in coat, she looks like a sun beam. Freya has tons of drive and will need a loving strong hand. She has a happy disposition and “aims to please”.

Mariah, born 2008, another daughter of Dallas and Oz. Mariah looks a lot like her mom, especially in the head, just not as thick as Dallas. Mariah is a tipped light brown.  Mariah will be bred Spring, 2012 to yet another beautiful champion from the East coast.

Mariah has shown and will begin showing again 11/2011, and will continue until she is bred. She will probably have her championship by then.
